~ As a matter of fact, you
miss many things in life. But that does not mean that you rush back to them. At
times, suffering is the only best option. That sense of loss and deprivation,
that guilt that you could probably have saved it, preserved it but did not,
that swelled up heart which does not burst but refuses to contain… I think they
are all important things to feel. And if you’re young and you can relate to this, congratulation!
You seem to have already seen a lot of things people have not. I have seen
people take the easier way and refuse to accept that that’s the wrong one. I
have seen people use plethora of defense mechanisms to prove why they did not choose
the tougher way to do things. But the fact remains that they all failed to
resist that momentary pleasure they achieved from the easier pathways. They were
all too scared to accept that they would have to tear themselves apart had they
chosen the tougher one. And then they make that call they should not have. And rush
back to things they should not have. I don’t know if you know this or not, but
our bodies are hardwired to find convenience and comfort for us. They have all
let their minds trick them. Don’t do that to yourself. Don’t run for comfort
and temporary pleasure. Go for things that hurt you, creates discomfort, pushes
you to question yourself, forces you to see beyond the obvious and lets you
discover a part of you hidden behind those excuses, vulnerabilities and defense mechanisms. One of the most herculean things to do is to fight with something
deeply ingrained in your own self. Be it love for someone. Hatred. Fear. Insecurity.
Or self-doubts. And one of the easiest thing is to shield them. And to take a
leeway from hurting yourself badly. Its almost like closing your eyes when in
danger. The danger won’t go away, pal! It would reoccur with a thousand times proliferated
strength to threaten you. Don’t close your eyes. Watch it, confront it. Let it
catch you. And then fight to save your life. That is when you will realise how mighty
you have always been, but too scared to take that leap. That is when you will
realise how much you missed out from the world each time you closed your eyes. That
is when you will realise why you should not have made that call and rushed back
to comfort. And you’ll turn back and watch that timid version of yourself
prostrate on ground for the last time, and shall move ahead of it, never to
look back again. Maybe after a while you feel a sense of loss and deprivation,
that guilt that you could probably have saved it, preserved it but did not,
that swelled up heart which does not burst but refuses to contain…but this time
you wont rush back. Because now you know, suffering is the only best option.
~Thirty minutes! ____ Imagine yourself going to work at 7:00 in the morning. You take an auto. Get into it. And your ride starts. You see many things pass by as your auto gains velocity. Many eucalyptus on the roadside. Beam of sunlight making its way on your clothes through leaves and buildings on the way. There is a little part in heart which derives joy from it. Isn't it? That flickering sunlight which makes you look prettier, even if for a fraction of seconds. As if, a waiter sways its way to bring you your plate from a super busy kitchen. Similarly, the sunlight travels through all the cool morning breezes to make you feel its warmth. Maybe that endeavor is what brings that little part of joy in our heart. And for those 30 minutes of your life, you want that sunlight more than any other joy or material in this world. For the sake of those 30 minutes of sheer content, realize what makes you happy. Because one day when the sunlight will fall sick, no matter how we...
